Cardiff City have signed striker Famara Diedhiou on a season-long loan.

The former Bristol City forward joins from La Liga club Granada, and becomes Cardiff's second loan signing after Liverpool defender Nat Phillips.

The 31-year-old has won 27 caps for Senegal, and scored 46 goals for the Robins between 2017 and 2021.

Cardiff are still keen on Bournemouth's Wales striker Kieffer Moore, but are waiting on whether the Premier League club will allow him to leave.

After leaving Bristol City, Diedhiou moved to Turkish outfit Alanyaspor, the club formerly managed by Cardiff manager Erol Bulut.

Diedhiou moved to Granada last January, helping the club win promotion from the Segunda Division to La Liga, after which Granada activated their option to buy him.

But this season he has been restricted to just nine appearances, scoring once.

Cardiff are expected to remain active in the hours before the transfer window closes as they seek several more additions, with midfield and forward players being targeted.
