Luke Williams: Swansea City head coach 'very happy' with transfer window business

Head coach Luke Williams has declared himself happy with Swansea City's January transfer window after sealing deadline-day deals for Charles Sagoe Jr and Przemyslaw Placheta.
Swansea signed Arsenal teenager Sagoe Jr on loan and Norwich winger Placheta on a deal until the end of the season.
They followed a third wide player, Ronald, who arrived for a seven-figure fee earlier in the week.
"I think the window went well - I am very happy," Williams said.
"We had an objective to bring more pace and physicality to the squad and we have done that.
"Not only did we bring the pace and athleticism that we required, we got good guys as well."
Sagoe Jr, who can operate on either flank, could make the first league appearance of his career when Swansea host Plymouth Argyle in the Championship on Saturday.
Williams says he is unconcerned by the 19-year-old's lack of experience.
"Charles is a young player with a bright future," he added.
"He has the type of athleticism and attacking instinct that we were really interested in bringing in.
"The amount of work that went in behind the scenes means we are confident in him, we are happy and think he will be a success for us."
Placheta has made 66 appearances in English football since joining Norwich in 2020, scoring three goals.
Williams sees the Poland international as a winger who will play higher up the pitch than left-wingback Josh Tymon.
"It was a late deal in terms of it being deadline day, but not in terms of what we knew about him and the information we had," Williams said.
"He was a player I was looking at in early January.
"He is an explosive athlete with good quality in wide positions and the athleticism to recover the space behind him as well."
Like Sagoe Jr, 25-year-old Placheta could feature against Plymouth, while there should also be a home debut for Ronald after he came on at half-time in Tuesday's 3-1 defeat at Leicester City.
The Foxes loss means Williams has taken one point from his first three Swansea league games.
With fixtures against Hull City, Leeds United, Ipswich Town and Sunderland to come after this weekend, there is pressure on Swansea to deliver a result against a Plymouth side who have not won an away league game this season.
Swansea will be without Harry Darling, who has been ruled for a "few weeks" by Williams after tearing a quad at Leicester.
Josh Key, Liam Walsh, Azeem Abdulai, Sam Parker and Jamal Lowe are all sidelined, while there are also doubts over Harrison Ashby.
Swansea's options are particularly limited in defence, although that did not stop them sending Kristian Pedersen on loan to Sheffield Wednesday before Thursday's deadline.
"I didn't have too long to work with Kristian," Williams said.
"I think coming in and trying to work so many things out so quickly, it was difficult.
"I would have liked to work with more but then if he has the opportunity to go and play more football, I am happy for him."
