Irish Premiership: Managers Stephen Baxter and Barry Gray handed standard suspensions

Crusaders boss Stephen Baxter has received a four-game standard suspension for his post-match comments after his side's 2-0 defeat by Larne last month.

In addition, the Irish FA has imposed a six-game ban on Newry manager Barry Gray for comments after his team's 2-1 loss against Cliftonville in January.

The IFA disciplinary committee also fined Glentoran £2,500 for incidents at the County Antrim Shield final.

Baxter and Gray were found to have breached the IFA Disciplinary Code.

Article 19.2 of the code states that a "player or official must not make comments which criticise the decision(s) and or performance(s) of any or all match officials in such a way as to imply bias, incompetence or question integrity on the part of match official(s)."

In the aftermath of the defeat by Larne at Seaview, Baxter claimed that his team "had been robbed" after referee Stephen Gregg waved away two Crusaders penalty appeals.

Gray criticised the decision to send off Ciaran O'Connor in Newry's late defeat against Cliftonville and said the officials' performances had "frustrated him."

Glentoran were fined after Larne striker Andy Ryan was struck by a liquid-filled container thrown from a section containing Glentoran supporters, who were also found to have let off flares during the final at Seaview.

The County Antrim FA reviewed the incident and the matter was then dealt with by the Irish FA's disciplinary authorities.
