Northern Ireland winger Danielle Maxwell has moved from Cliftonville to English Women's Championship team Blackburn Rovers.

Maxwell was named Women's Premiership player of the year in January.

"I'm really happy to be here and I feel for myself, it's a big step in the right direction," said Maxwell, 21, who has moved for an undisclosed fee.

"I'm excited to see what I can bring to the team to help us move forward together.

Maxwell progressed through Glentoran's Academy and made her first-team debut for the club in 2019 before signing for Cliftonville in late 2021.

The midfielder has earned nine Northern Ireland caps and netted her first international goal in the Women's Nations League game against Hungary at Seaview in October.

Maxwell was on target again for her country in the subsequent 4-0 win over Albania.
