Peterborough United goalkeeping coach Ali Uzunhasanoglu has been given a suspended ban and fined for placing more than 1,000 bets on football games.

Uzunhasanoglu was fined £250 by an independent Regulatory Commission after admitting breaching the Football Association's betting rules.

The coach admitted a charge of misconduct over 1,144 bets placed between August 2018 and October 2023.

He has also been given a suspended one-month ban from football activity.

The suspension will come into force if the Turkish-born former Cambridge, Stevenage and Preston goalkeeping coach commits further betting offences before 30 June 2025.

Uzunhasanoglu joined Peterborough in 2021 and worked with the club's youth sides before being promoted to replace Posh legend Mark Tyler in the role last summer.

The FA has also released the written reasons, external behind the commission's decision.
