Swansea City's head of football operations Josh Marsh is poised to become loans manager at Premier League club Chelsea.

The Welsh club confirmed, external Marsh has left his role to "pursue other opportunities".

Speculation over his future began when Swansea appointed Paul Watson as sporting director last summer.

Marsh, who joined from Huddersfield in June 2022, initially stayed to work under Watson but has now left.

When first appointed, Marsh was put in charge of all football departments at Swansea, including player recruitment.

But Watson's arrival from Luton Town saw him assume responsibility for all Swansea's football operations, with what the club described as a "particular focus" on player recruitment.

Swansea, who have Chelsea defender Bashir Humphreys on a year-long loan this season, have been criticised for their transfer work in recent windows.
