Billy Mckay's first-half penalty was saved as Inverness Caledonian Thistle drew 0-0 at home to Dunfermline Athletic.

A bright start from the hosts looked to have been rewarded when Cammy Kerr was fouled by Paul Allen.

But visiting goalkeeper Deniz Mehmet sprawled to keep out the spot-kick, much to manager Duncan Ferguson's frustration.

His side remain second bottom, while Dunfermline drop to eighth.

The gap between the clubs remains at two points, with Arbroath seven points below Inverness.
