Sutton United and Morecambe have been fined by the Football Association after a heated row between the sides in their League Two clash on 10 February.

The Us were fined £2,750 and the Shrimps £2,000 for the incident which resulted in yellow cards for players on both teams.

Morecambe won the match 1-0 via Ged Garner's fourth-minute goal.

Tempers flared in first-half added time when Morecambe's Chris Stokes handled a shot by Sutton's Charlie Lakin.

Stokes and Sutton's Lee Angol were booked in the aftermath.

Both clubs were charged after the "mass altercation", with an FA spokesperson saying that both clubs had failed to ensure their players behaved properly during the period before half-time.

Morecambe sit 11th in League Two with Sutton rock bottom of the table and facing relegation from the Football League.
