Luke Norris' early strike earned Tranmere Rovers a shock win at League Two promotion challengers Wrexham.

Norris' pace caught out the home defence and he produced a classy finish from Regan Hendry's well-placed assist.

Elliot Lee and Jordan Davies were among those to be thwarted at the other end late on as Wrexham searched in vain for an equaliser.

The visitors rose two places to 14th after a fourth successive unbeaten game while Wrexham dropped a spot to third.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson said: "We had some great moments where we needed to do better, we need to look at that.

"To have 25 attempts on goal, I don't think many teams will have had that, but only four were on target which is not enough for the quality we've got.

"Football is all about taking chances and we weren't able to do that."
