Reading owner Dai Yongge is "open to the sale" of the club's Bearwood Park training facility to secure funding while new owners are sought.

A club statement said talks with potential new ownership groups "are progressing" but "no single party has been granted exclusivity".

It added the owner is "evaluating every option to secure sufficient funding until new ownership is confirmed".

Reading are five points above the relegation zone in League One.

The Royals have had a total of six points deducted from their 2023-24 tally as punishment for financial issues, and supporters have frequently protested against Dai's running of the club.

The EFL has previously issued a series of penalties against Dai for financial misconduct, and has urged him to start funding the club or sell up as soon as possible.
