The FA say Ross Marshall played against Weymouth while suspended on 2 march

Torquay United have been docked one point from the National League South table for fielding a suspended player.

The Gulls, who are in administration and had already been docked 10 points for their financial issues, drop to 47 points as a result of the deduction.

The Football Association says Ross Marshall played in the 1-1 draw with Weymouth on 2 March while banned.

The deduction sees Torquay fall a place to 19th, one below Truro City, with three games to play this season.

The National League have not revealed who the suspended player was, but on the FA's website it states Marshall admitted playing while suspended and was fined £250, while the club was also fined £250 for allowing a suspended player to play.

Torquay have also been fined £750 by a National League independent tribunal.
