Shrewsbury Town goalkeeper Jamal Blackman has signed a contract extension for the remainder of the season.

The 31-year-old joined the club on a short-term deal last month and has made six appearances in League One.

Blackman began his career at Chelsea and spent a season playing under Shrewsbury boss Gareth Ainsworth at former club Wycombe Wanderers in 2016-17.

"I've really enjoyed my time here so far. We've managed to get a couple of wins and a couple of draws in the games I've played so far and we want to build on that," Blackman said.

Shrewsbury are 22nd in League One, six points from safety, and are away to Charlton Athletic on Saturday, followed by a trip to Stockport County next Tuesday evening.
