Walsall extended their unbeaten league run to seven matches with victory over Bristol Rovers

Walsall manager Mat Sadler was impressed with his side's maturity as the League Two leaders found a different way to win and retain top spot.

Having trailed at half-time at home to Bristol Rovers, Aaron Pressley levelled midway through the second half and then secured a sixth win in seven league matches with 11 minutes left.

The Saddlers had picked up just a single point from the three previous league matches in which they had trailed this season.

"We haven't done that this season, come back from a losing position to win, so that was really pleasing," Sadler told BBC Radio WM.

"It would have been easy to panic, which we didn't do as a group. They played our way, they didn't try and score in the first minute of the second half, we knew we had time."

Sadler admitted Rovers' first-half formation had caught him out, but countered it with two changes in midfield at half-time, bringing on Brandon Comley and Courtney Clarke for Lewis Warrington and Ryan Finnigan.

"We want to make sure everyone stays fit, because when we have the options that we have - to welcome Jamie (Jellis) back and have Rico (Richards) not play - I wouldn't want to have that legs and energy coming on if I were an opposition manager," he said.

"So we have to try and keep that depth of squad. Different players for different occasions and today the finishers made a massive difference."
