Northampton looking at 'next 10 games' - Calderwood

As well as Northampton, Colin Calderwood is also a former manager of Nottingham Forest, Hibernian and Cambridge United

Northampton Town are breaking the season up into blocks as a way of measuring their progress, says technical director Colin Calderwood.
The Cobblers are 13th in League One, with 14 points from 10 games, in their third season in a row at third-tier level.
They have kept six clean sheets so far and go into Saturday's home game against Rotherham looking for a fifth win in seven.
"The start's ok, we're fairly satisfied but to be a League One team going forward we have to improve from where we are at the minute," Calderwood told BBC Radio Northampton.
"Ten games is a real good indication of whether you're capable, we are, whether you're resilient, we've shown enough of that, and the improvement now has to come between now and game 20.
"We do another 10 games and look to finish at least where we are now, and try to achieve something a little better."
Northampton finished 19th in 2024-25 after changing managers mid-season, with Kevin Nolan replacing Jon Brady.
Calderwood was subsequently brought back for a third spell at the club in his current role and has just passed the 22nd anniversary of being appointed manager in 2003.
"We can improve what we do with the ball. Individual mistakes, unit mistakes, we've got to smooth that side of the game out and make it a little bit more economic when we're in possession," he said.
"The foundation for us is attitude, application and (rely on) good players in the group with the hope that they can win us a game. We'll build on that as we attack the next 10 games."
Former Tottenham, Aston Villa and Scotland defender Calderwood said being technical director was providing him with "the best of all worlds".
"You get your fix of coaching, being involved in some of the analysis of the opposition, debrief from the games, all of that is central to where I hope my strengths are," he added.
"The other side is to take the experience gained and learned over the past 22 years, dig down into the academy and the under-18s and then help with eveything else around that."
