Brighton 2-1 Bournemouth: Kluivert stunner not enough for Cherries

Justin Kluivert's magnificent second-half strike was worthy of winning any game, but it wasn't even enough for a point for Bournemouth at Brighton on Tuesday evening.
The Dutchman collected Milos Kerkez's pass on the left before cutting inside and rifling an unstoppable strike past Bart Verbruggen to cancel out Joao Pedro's early penalty for the Seagulls.
It appeared to have given the Cherries, who were denied by Verbruggen on several occasions, a platform to go on and win the game - but Danny Welbeck's goal 15 minutes from time proved to be the winner.
The defeat was Bournemouth's first on their travels since 9 November, when they were beaten 3-2 by Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Despite slipping to a third loss in four league matches - their worst run in the top flight since October - Andoni Iraola's side remain just three points off the top four and well-placed to secure European football next season.
