Leicester City head coach Marti Cifuentes described the Foxes' first-half showing in their defeat at Hull City as "unacceptable" during the interval, midfielder Aaron Ramsey has admitted.

Goals from Liam Millar and Joe Gelhardt helped the Tigers race into a two-goal lead just after the half-hour mark.

Ramsey's second goal in as many matches, a wonderfully caressed finish into the top corner from outside the area, halved Leicester's deficit.

But it proved to be in vain, meaning the Foxes have picked up just one win in their past seven Championship matches.

"I think you can imagine what he said – it's unacceptable," Ramsey told BBC Radio Leicester after the game.

"To be Leicester City Football Club and do what we did in the first half, it just wasn't good enough.

"We're all disappointed, staff, players – I'm sure the fans are as well. Bad night."

Ramsey suffered a difficult start for the club following his season-long loan move from Burnley last month, being sent off on his debut against Oxford United and subsequently serving a three-match ban.

Despite netting in back-to-back games, the 22-year-old felt he should have scored more as the Foxes slipped to eighth in the table, with the risk of dropping two further places depending on results elsewhere on Wednesday.

"I should have scored another two, maybe, and if you know me, you know I'll be looking at them two instead of the goal," he added.

"It's nice getting a second goal for this football club after the start that I had but we lost three points, that's the main thing.

"I'm disappointed for myself, the lads, the staff and the fans who travelled all that way on a Tuesday night - bottom line, it just wasn't good enough."
