Thomas' Wigan loan cut short by knee injury

Silko Thomas was stretchered off during Wigan Athletic's draw with Lincoln City at the weekend

Silko Thomas has returned to parent club Leicester City after suffering a season-ending knee injury for Wigan Athletic at the weekend.

The 20-year-old winger has racked up 31 appearances for the Latics this season but had to be stretchered off in the first half of the 1-1 home draw with Lincoln City on Saturday.

Thomas joined the League One side on a season-long loan but is now back at the King Power Stadium for treatment on the injury.

In a statement on the club website, Wigan said the player is likely to be out for five months.
