Derby County defender Max Johnston has been ruled out for six to eight weeks with a hamstring injury, Rams boss John Eustace has confirmed.

The Scotland international was carried off in the 88th minute of the victory against Queens Park Rangers.

"Max isn't as bad as we initially first thought, which is great news, but unfortunately it's still going to be six to eight weeks," Eustace told BBC Radio Derby.

"It's really unfortunate now he's going to be missing. It's a big blow to the team and to the squad.

"He's obviously very disappointed about being injured, but it's part of the job. It's (about) how he comes back, and he'll come back strong."
