John Askey says he is unhappy with his side's performance in their 3-0 loss at Hemel Hempstead.

Brandon Barzey scored two first-half goals for the hosts before Joe White added a third a minute from full time.

The loss sees Truro drop to seventh place in National League South - although the top seven sides are all covered by just three points in an exciting title race.

"It's disappointing. We've not been at it today," City manager Askey told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"The goals that we conceded were poor from our point of view, we allowed crosses to come in and then not dealt with them.

"We had opportunities to score, not taken them, so overall it's obviously a very disappointing day."

The loss was just a third in 11 league games for the Tinners who have won 14 of their 28 matches in the sixth tier.

"It's the first time really that we've probably been well beaten," added Askey.

"So we have to pick ourselves up, we've got 18 games to go.

"It's the back-end of the season, we've got to now start pushing if we want to achieve anything this season.

"In previous games when we've had a defeat the players have reacted well. What you have to make sure is that one defeat doesn't become two, doesn't become three."
