Carlisle United will sign Morgan Feeney on a two-year deal when his contract with Shrewsbury Town expires at the end of this month.

Feeney played 77 times for Carlisle between 2021 and 2023 before joining Shrewsbury.

The defender, now 26, was part of Paul Simpson's squad who gained promotion to League One in the 2022-23 campaign.

But after 80 games with the Shrews, he is heading back to Brunton Park to be part of their squad in the National League under Mark Hughes.

"Bringing Morgan back is a move we're extremely pleased with," Hughes told the club website, external.

"He embodies all the characteristics you look for in a player - professionalism, drive, quality on the pitch, and a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed."
