Head coach Matt Bloomfield says his table-topping Wycombe Wanderers side are not "living off" their achievements so far in League One this season and is adamant their outstanding unbeaten run is "irrelevant".

The Chairboys fought back from 2-0 down to take a point at Exeter on Tuesday to remain top, two points clear of Wrexham.

Wycombe went into the game on an 11-match winning run and had looked in danger of suffering a first defeat since late September before goals from Joe Low and Cam Humphreys earned a point.

The draw may have ended that winning sequence but it did preserve the club's unbeaten record, stretching it to 15 games.

"You've got to respect a point, especially on the road against good opposition and being two-nil down," Bloomfield told BBC Three Counties Radio.

"But I really believed we could go on and win the game.

"The boys believe in what they're doing and it's all about their work. It's heartening to see their character.

"I'm really proud of them, the way they keep doing that."

Wrexham's win over Barnsley on Tuesday kept them firmly on Wycombe's heels and any slip ups from Bloomfield's side against sixth-placed Reading on Saturday could see them replaced at the top.

That fact is not lost on the Chairboys boss, who says his side will not dwell on their success to this point.

"This game waits for no-one. It's a lovely stat [15 games unbeaten] but it means nothing to us because we've got another big game on Saturday," he said.

"You can never live off what's been and gone. The minute the game's over, there's the next one to look forward to - we're hungry for more work.

"We want to continue the unbeaten run but it's irrelevant. It's a single game on Saturday that we have to go after in the same way we've done all the others."
