Last gasp penalty denies Guernsey FC victory

Guernsey FC suffered more late heartache as they conceded a penalty in the 10th minute of stoppage time to draw 2-2 at fellow strugglers Badshot Lea.
Kareem Akinnibi's spot kick in the final seconds for Isthmian League South Central's bottom side stopped the Green Lions getting their fifth win of the season and kept them third-from-bottom.
Having seen Matt Loaring hit the bar early on it took until the 74th minute for Guernsey to take the lead when Charlton Gauvain headed home Brandon Wallace's cross.
Akinnibi levelled four minutes later only for Gauvain to score an 81st-minute penalty after Sam Murray was fouled in the box.
But the visitors responded well as Ibrahim Busari hit the bar in the fourth minute of additional time before Thomas Dodds and Dave Merris blocked good Badshot efforts.
However their pressure eventually told as the Green Lions gave away a penalty for Akinnibi to convert.
It was the third time in the past seven games that Guernsey have conceded late to drop points after a 5-4 loss to Moneyfields and a 3-3 draw with Ascot United.
