Bolton sign Matete on loan and Bochum's Osei-Tutu

Bolton Wanderers have signed midfielder Jay Matete on a season-long loan from Championship side Sunderland as well as VfL Bochum defender Jordi Osei-Tutu on a two-year deal.
Matete, 23, has twice won promotion from League One during his career, once with Sunderland and more recently with Plymouth Argyle during a loan spell in 2023.
He spent part of last season on loan with Oxford United during the turn of the year and made six appearances for the club.
Meanwhile, former Arsenal trainee Osei-Tutu, 25, has joined for an undisclosed fee, having spent two years with Bochum.
Prior to his move to Germany, Osei-Tutu had loan spells with Cardiff City, Nottingham Forest and Rotherham United.
"We were interested in him [Matete] before he went to Sunderland, so we’re very excited to be working with him now," Bolton boss Ian Evatt said., external
"He has been with teams that have been promoted out of this league for the last three years, so he has good experience in knowing what it takes, and he brings a different profile and skillset to our other midfielders."
Evatt said of Osei-Tutu:, external "For us to take a player from the Bundesliga is great and it’s brilliant that he’s bought into our project.
"Hopefully, he can show everyone what he can do and be a massive success.”
