Wigan Athletic have re-signed Jordan Jones on a short-term contract ahead of the start of the League One season.

Jones was released at the end of June when his contract expired, but he has now been brought back in by head coach Shaun Maloney to cover for injuries picked up in pre-season.

The Northern Ireland winger played 50 times for the Latics across his three years at the DW Stadium.

Jones, 29, will be eligible to play in Wigan's first game, at home to Charlton Athletic, on Saturday (15:00 BST).
