Barnsley sign US international Lewis

Barnsley have signed winger Jonathan Lewis until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old has played all of his senior career in the United States with 175 Major Soccer League appearances before departing Colorado Rapids in January .

The US international - who has won eight caps - has previously spent time in the English football system, having spent a brief amount of time at Bradford City's academy.

"I'm excited to be here. I'm already ready for the matches to come up and just try to help the team to get into the play-offs. I'm excited for it all," Lewis told the club's website, external.

"To be with a top club in League One, be able to compete for the play-off spots and be able to compete with big clubs in this league - I'm excited about that."
