Cheltenham goalscorer Luke Young said the team's 1-1 draw with Bradford is a "stepping stone" and shows their progress in recent weeks.

Young scored the 15-minute equaliser for the Robins after they went down a goal to the promotion-chasing Bantams inside 10 minutes.

The draw gives the Robins four points from their last two games after they beat Colchester 2-1 away on Saturday.

"It shows where we've come in the last couple of weeks from previous games and the Swindon game, we've shown a good reaction and good resilience and it's a stepping stone for us to build on," Young told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

"The last two games especially we've certainly shown a togetherness, a grit, a determination that we've started to build on."

The Bradford draw and Colchester win are the first time Cheltenham have taken points from two consecutive league games so far this season under boss Michael Flynn, who took over this summer.

Cheltenham had previously been on a three-game losing streak and now move up to 17th in League Two.

"Compared to where we were a few weeks ago to where we are now we've reacted," midfielder Young said.

"We're in a decent-enough place without getting too carried away. We've still got to keep our feet on the ground and keep working hard to do what we've done the last few games if we want to get success moving forward."

Young joined Cheltenham from Wrexham this summer and has played every minute of their last 10 league matches.

The 31-year-old said the team had "gone back to basics" in recent weeks and that they would be full of "confidence" ahead of their next game away to Carlisle on Saturday.

"Trying to get the ball forward as quickly as we can but into areas not just lumping it but getting quality balls in behind, down the sides and playing in their half," Young said.

"We've shown a resilience to stop crosses, to defend the crosses when they come in the box, working hard for each other, tackles, staying with runners - just doing the ugly side of the game."
