Nottingham Forest have signed Portugal international Jota Silva from Portuguese top-flight club Vitoria on a four-year deal.

The 25-year-old forward scored 15 goals in 42 matches for Vitoria last season, earning him an international call-up from Portugal boss Roberto Martinez in March for the first of his two caps.

"We can see how excited Jota is to continue his career journey beyond Portugal where he has enjoyed such a strong period in the Primeira Liga with Vitoria," Forest football officer Ross Wilson said.

Forest finished 17th in the Premier League last season, six points above the relegation places.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side scored 49 goals in the league but the Portuguese coach was keen to add extra firepower to his frontline.

Forest have also signed Fiorentina's Nikola Milenkovic and Newcastle United's Elliot Anderson so far this summer to bolster their midfield.

Marko Stamenic, a defender from Partizan Belgrade, has signed and been sent on loan to Olympiacos while goalkeeper Carlos Miguel has joined from Brazilian club Corinthians.
