David Longwell is set to remain as interim head coach of AFC Fylde for the rest of the season.

Longwell stepped into the role along with goalkeeper coach Chris Neal after Kevin Phillips left the club last week.

Having won their first game at Altrincham on Saturday, the pair have been asked to take charge of the remaining 14 league games.

Fylde are currently 22nd in the National League, one point adrift of safety.

"I was brought in to provide support and I'm going to continue to do exactly that for the players," Longwell told the club's website, external.
