Chesterfield bring in Wigan midfielder Darcy on loan

Ronan Darcy scored once in 14 games for Wigan following his move from Crawley

Chesterfield have brought in midfielder Ronan Darcy on a season-long loan from Wigan Athletic.

Darcy made 14 appearances for Wigan after joining from Crawley Town in January, but has been allowed to head out for the season.

The 24-year-old had played a key role in helping Crawley win promotion to League One in 2023-24.

Darcy is the ninth player added to the Spireites' squad this summer.

Chesterfield opened their League Two campaign with victory at home to Barrow on Saturday.
