Guernsey FC manager Tony Vance will face a spell away from the side after suffering an accident.

Vance, who has managed the Green Lions since they were first formed in 2011, is awaiting surgery after what the club describes as a "complicated break".

The incident happened after he saw his side concede two late goals to lose 5-4 to Moneyfields at Footes Lane on Saturday.

Coaches Steve Sharman and Kevin Gilligan will take charge of the side while Vance recuperates.

Guernsey are currently second from bottom of Isthmian League South Central with two wins from their 16 matches this season.

"While Tony recuperates, he will remain involved with the team from a distance, offering his guidance and support," Guernsey FC said in a statement.
