George Earthy can "hopefully kick on" after he came off the bench to score both Bristol City's goals in their 2-1 win against Middlesbrough says manager Liam Manning.
Midfielder Earthy, who signed on loan from West Ham last summer, got his first goals for the club after being one of a triple substitution in the 63rd minute that turned the game at Ashton Gate on its head.
"Hopefully that's the first of many, hopefully he can kick on from there. I thought he had a really good impact," Manning told BBC Radio Bristol.
"The lads came on and I thought had terrific impact. Delighted for George [Earthy], he's done terrifically well."
The 20-year-old tapped in from close range for the first goal to draw the Robins level in the 72nd minute, after Tommy Conway's opener for Boro.
He then fired in the winner 10 minutes later after Scott Twine's free-kick bounced off the crossbar and fell straight to him.
Earthy has made 25 appearances for the club in the league this season, but only five have been starts.
"I know he's probably wanted to start more games but on a first loan he's coped really well and he's a fantastic character," Manning said.
"I'm delighted for him, he deserves all the plaudits."
Earthy has been with West Ham since the age of six and enjoyed a breakthrough season with the Hammers last campaign, making his first three senior appearances and scoring his first goal in a 3-1 win against Luton Town.
He said he has had to be "patient" at Bristol City and has been "working hard" and that his parent club want to let him get his "opportunities" during his loan spell.
"I've got some tonight and took them. Try and get the experience as a player and grow and develop – [there is] not much better clubs to do it than here," Earthy said.
