Newport County have signed former Swansea City defender Joe Thomas on a two-year deal.

The 22-year old left the Swans this summer and becomes Newport’s third signing in 24 hours after deals for left back Anthony Glennon and centre back Ciaran Brennan.

“I’m delighted to be joining the club and I’m looking forward to getting started,” Thomas said.

“Talks have been going on for a few weeks now and I’m excited for what’s to come.”

The Exiles are currently without a manager after Graham Coughlan’s departure last week, with owner Huw Jenkins currently leading Newport’s recruitment drive.
