Abubakarr Suma and Luke Camilleri are looking to move Cambridge up the table

Cambridge City Women have appointed Luke Camilleri as their new first-team manager.

Camilleri, who will be assisted by Abubakarr Suma, has previously worked with girls' age group teams at Watford and Norwich City.

"They bring lots of experience from the male and female game and we are excited to have them on board," said a club statement.

Camilleri replaces Stewart Nicholls, who left the club earlier this month to take charge of the women's team at Biggleswade United, whose chairman is TV pundit Guillem Balagué.

Cambridge are currently bottom of Eastern Region Division One North and the club say they are "looking for new players to support a rebuild".
