Vale sign ex-Owls wing-back Johnson on free transfer

Port Vale have signed experienced wing-back Marvin Johnson on a short-term deal.
The 34-year-old moves to Vale Park as a free agent after leaving Sheffield Wednesday in the summer.
Johnson spent four seasons at Hillsborough and worked under current Vale head coach Darren Moore when he was Owls boss.
"Marvin is a player I know well and we're delighted to bring him into the group here at Vale Park," Moore told the club website., external
"He will offer plenty of quality and experience at both ends of the pitch, which I think will be invaluable to us throughout this important period."
Johnson, who will provide some much-needed wing-back cover for Vale, could make his debut in Saturday's League One game at Wigan.
The Valiants have not disclosed the exact length of his deal.
