Man Utd defender Aljofree joins Notts on loan

League Two side Notts County have signed Manchester United central defender Sonny Aljofree on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old has come through the youth ranks at the Premier League club and captained their Under-21 side, but is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Red Devils.

Aljofree spent last season out on loan in the fourth tier with Accrington Stanley, where he featured 27 times in all competitions.

"He's capable of playing anywhere across the defensive line, mainly being deployed in a back four for Manchester United but often on the right of a back three during his impressive loan at Accrington," Notts' director of football Roberto Gagliardi told the club website.
