Tranmere Rovers have signed striker Joe Ironside from Doncaster Rovers on a three-year deal until June 2028 as well as Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Jack Barrett on loan until January.

Ironside, 31, who began his career at Sheffield United, joins for an undisclosed fee.

He helped Doncaster win promotion from League Two last season and scored 24 goals in 84 appearances for the club.

Barrett, 23, came through Everton's youth setup and has been with Blackburn since the summer of 2024.

"I'm delighted to get it over the line. Now that everything's done, I couldn't be happier, and I can't wait to get to Prenton Park and show everyone what I can do," he said.

"And I think the club is only pushing in one direction, and I want to be a part of that."
