Jersey Bulls manager Elliot Powell says his side can learn from their 3-1 loss at high-flying Faversham Town.
Fraser Barlow gave the islanders a 17th-minute lead at the side second in Isthmian League South East.
But Tashi-Jay Kwayie equalised moments later before Kieron Campbell gave them a 32nd-minute lead.
Johan Caney-Bryan's goal midway through the second half sealed the win as Bulls dropped to 15th in the table, external.
It was just the second loss of the season for the island side, who still have games in hand on all the teams around them.
"There were positives to take from it - Faversham are a really good side, definitely the best-coached side that we've played in the league so far," Powell told BBC Radio Jersey.
"I thought, especially first half, we were in the game but two lapses in concentration, a lack of communication across the whole side really, and we've paid the price.
"That's probably the difference we're finding at this level - you can make those mistakes at step five and get away with it, but when you're playing against a side like these boys, they've punished us twice."
Jersey Bulls Women keep up perfect record

Jersey Bulls Women have won all four games so far in their first season in English football
Meanwhile, Jersey Bulls Women made it four wins from four games in their first season in English football.
They were 7-1 winners at Milford and Witley in South East Counties Women's Football League Surrey Division One.
Holly Sundby gave Bulls an eighth-minute lead while Ella Brennand and Hannah Lynam struck in a four-minute spell shortly before the break to put Bulls 3-0 up at half time.
Anita Tavares made it 4-0 four minutes after the interval before Leah Morris got on the scoresheet.
Tavares made it 6-0 before the hosts pulled a goal back, only for Sofia Rodrigues to get a seventh late on.
The victory means Bulls are second in the table, three points off leaders Meadow Sports, who have five wins from their five games.
