The financial accounts of Bristol City's parent company, Bristol City Holdings Limited, for the year ended June 2024 show a pre-tax loss of £3.3m.
The figures are a major improvement, however, on the period up to the end of June 2023 which revealed pre-tax losses of £22.2m.
Bristol City say a major part of the reduction in losses was the sale of midfielder Alex Scott to Bournemouth along with increases in both matchday and non-matchday revenue.
The Championship club also saw a 23% increase in ticket sales which were helped by capacity crowds for FA Cup ties against Premier League sides West Ham United and Nottingham Forest.
"It is encouraging to see the loss reduce so much over the past 12 months," City finance director and chief operating officer Tom Rawcliffe told the club website., external
"Although not being able to show a profit despite one of the club's largest ever player sales highlights the unusual nature of the industry we operate within."
Bristol City Holdings Limited operate Bristol City Football Club Limited, Bristol City Women Football Club and Ashton Gate Limited.
