Eastbourne Borough have appointed former Aldershot boss Tommy Widdrington as their new manager.

The 54-year-old returns to the National League South club having taken charge at Priory Lane between 2012 and 2017.

Widdrington resigned as Shots boss on Tuesday with the club in 19th place in the National League, a point above the relegation spots.

He led Aldershot to victory in the FA Trophy at Wembley in May having taken over as boss in April 2023.

Eastbourne are currently third from bottom of National League South with five points from 10 games.

The club parted company with Widdrington's predecessor Matt Gray last week.

"There are few as experienced or knowledgeable at this and the level above and we are as excited about the future as or supporters should be," chief executive Alan Williams told the club website., external
