Luton Town boss Matt Bloomfield hailed Carlton Morris as a "massive player" for the club after the striker ended a scoring drought stretching back to 29 December.
Skipper Morris netted the second goal in Monday's 3-1 home win over Bristol City, a vital result in their fight against relegation.
Following on from Friday's 1-0 victory at Derby County, it was only the second time this season that the Hatters have managed back-to-back wins.
"If you look at our goal from Friday, he was the guy who got the flick on at the front post and that was an all-important moment," boss Matt Bloomfield told BBC Three Counties Radio.
"Carlton is a massive player for this football club, a massive leader for us and I've never wavered from that belief in him.
"I'm genuinely so pleased because there is no better guy to be leading us from the front."
Morris contributed 20 goals when Luton won promotion from the Championship via the play-offs in 2023.
But the goal against Bristol City was only his eighth of the current campaign.
"I'm delighted for him, he works so hard every day. He looks after all the lads and it was one for the group really," said team-mate Thelo Aasgaard, who was also on target against the Robins.
Luton remain in the relegation places but are below Derby only on goal difference, are two points behind Hull City and three adrift of Oxford United and Preston North End with two games to play.
They end the season with two lunchtime (12:30 BST) kick-offs, at home to Coventry City on Saturday, 26 April, and away at managerless West Bromwich Albion on 3 May.
"We've got to focus on our own work. Games are running out and we have to make sure we focus on ourselves and facing Coventry on Saturday," said Bloomfield.
"We have to start with the same intensity, the same belief, the same calmness about our performance and we want to put on another show for our supporters.
"It was great to hear them in full voice, they've been incredible for us this season."
