Tomas Bent Magnusson will bring "height and aggression" to Hearts - according to head coach Derek McInnes - after the Icelandic midfielder signed from Valur for an undisclosed fee.

Magnusson has penned a three-year deal with Hearts - his first move away from his homeland.

The 22-year-old started his career with IBV before a move to Valur earlier this year and McInnes believes Magnusson is ready to perform in Scotland's top flight.

"I'm pleased we've been able to bring Tomas in," the Hearts head coach said.

"He'll bring a presence to the middle of the park with his height and athleticism, and he's a very dynamic player in that he can both defend and attack.

"I'm looking forward to working with him in the weeks and months ahead."
