Cambridge United fear goalkeeper Marko Marosi and centre-back Zeno Ibsen Rossi could be facing lengthy spells on the sidelines.

Marosi sustained a hamstring injury in the 40th minute of Saturday's 3-2 win against Mansfield Town and had to be replaced by Jack Stevens.

And Ibsen Rossi damaged a shoulder late on as he challenged a Mansfield player in the box, leading to a penalty from which the visitors scored their second goal.

"It was an innocuous couple of incidents," boss Garry Monk told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire following the game.

"We won't know the diagnosis till they're scanned, but from your gut [instinct] they're not going to be short-term ones, are they?

"It's just typical - we seem to be facing a lot of that. We'll just deal with it again, but it's a huge blow."

Marosi was only playing his second game for the U's, having been signed following his release by Championship club Plymouth Argyle.

Cambridge are 22nd in League One, but have taken four points from their past two games before Tuesday evening's match at Rotherham United.

And Monk has boosted his attacking options by bringing in Nottingham Forest's Esapa Osong and Dom Ballard from Southampton on loan for the rest of the season.
