'We feel embarrassed' - Farke

Leeds boss Daniel Farke spoke to BBC Radio Leeds after Tuesday's night's EFL Cup exit: "It hurts because we were the favourite today, we are playing in the Premier League against a team in the Championship. I wouldn't say its an unbelievable result because as as newly promoted side to the Premier League, it's not like we've played in that league for the last 30 years. I think we were the better side but all that matters is the goals."
On the youth of the Sheffield Wednesday squad: "They're professional footballers, it's not like we played against a youth team. But they did rest some of their more experienced players. We have to take all the criticism. There are so many shocks and surprises in this competition and it was just one of those days. Congratulations to Sheffield. We feel embarrassed as a Premier League side to not go through in a game like this, you just can say sorry."
On the positives from this match: "After a loss here, I don't want to take any positives. Important minutes for Sebastiaan Bornauw, Jaka Bijol, Dominic Calvert-Lewin. I feel a bit for them. Dominic needs the minutes desperately and on a normal day I'd say he scores two goals but I can't be critical with him because he's had such a long break and he's back in training. We had a way better second half, we played like I wanted us to play but sadly we conceded."
On the seriousness of Ao Tanaka's injury: "It's an MCL injury so he'll be out for a few weeks. It's difficult at the moment to say when exactly he can return. It definitely won't be before the international break. It's quite similar injury to Ethan Ampadu's. Two of our key midfielders are out but that's football. We have to get on with it."
On the rest of the transfer window: "We will see. We definitely want to do a bit more, I think it's fair to say our attack wasn't at the top level today, which we were aware of. I'm happy with the signing of James Justin. I think our defensive and midfield positions are all sorted but it's no secret we would like to add some quality to our attack."
