Northampton Town have re-signed midfielder Terry Taylor from Charlton Athletic on loan for the rest of the season.

The 24-year-old made 19 appearances for the Cobblers last season, scoring once, during a previous loan spell at Sixfields.

He helped Kevin Nolan's side secure their League One status, but they have only managed one point from the first two games of the new campaign.

"The supporters know all about Terry and what he can do and the quality of his performances last season say more than I ever could," Nolan told the club website., external

"He was really keen to come back here and that not only says a lot about Terry, but it is a pat on the back for Northampton Town and what we do as a club.

"He will form part of a strong midfield unit, and we are looking forward to him rejoining the group."

Northampton face Championship side Southampton in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening (19:45 BST).
