Stockport County's accounts have shown that they lost over £7m in the 2023/24 season.
However, those losses were underwritten by the club's owner Mark Stott putting in £11m in the form of new shares.
Over £640,00 was spent on player signings, but on the field, Stockport won League Two for a second promotion in three seasons, and their average attendance of 9,331 was the highest at Edgeley Park for 57 years.
The Hatters are currently fifth in League One and on course for their highest league finish for 23 years.
Stockport's chief executive officer Simon Wilson has paid tribute to the generosity of owner Stott, who has been at the helm since 2020, for driving the club forward.
"This latest step for the club was brought about by the combination of incredible skill and effort from the staff, passion and commitment from the supporters, and, of course, the important investment and guidance from Mark," Wilson told the club's website., external
"It is no secret how difficult the global financial climate is, and we could not grow at the rate we are without Mark's support."
