Blackburn Rovers have completed the signing of Iceland striker Andri Gudjohnsen for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old son of former Bolton Wanderers, Chelsea and Barcelona star Eidur Gudjohnsen has signed a three-year deal at Ewood Park, with an option for a 12-month extension.

He spent last season at Gent in the Belgian Pro League, where he scored five goals in 32 league games after joining them from Swedish side Norrkoping.

Gudjohnsen also had a loan spell at Danish side Lyngby in 2023-24, having previously been part of the youth set-ups at both Barcelona and Real Madrid, playing 19 times for the latter's B side and scoring four goals.

He joins a Rovers sideb which has had a poor start to the season, losing three of their first four league games, including a 2-0 home defeat by Norwich City on Saturday.

He has scored nine goals in 34 international appearances for Iceland, and has now linked up with the national team for World Cup qualifiers against Azerbaijan and France.
