Defender Rob Dickie has signed a new two-year contract extension at Bristol City.

Dickie, 29, joined from fellow Championship side Queens Park Rangers in the summer of 2023 and has since played 94 games for the Robins, scoring seven goals.

The centre-back played in important role in helping City reach the play-offs last season playing every single minute of league football after he returned from injury in November.

"I think we are capable of consistently challenging at the top end of the table for that top six and we want to push," Dickie told the club website, external.

"We have a really good squad here and as a group we feel we should be pushing," he said.

"I have really enjoyed my time here and it is nice to feel settled. I like to lead on and off the pitch with my actions."

Dickie's current deal was due to expire in 2026, but the new terms keep him at Ashton Gate until 2028.

Bristol City's technical director Brian Tinnion said: "We are very pleased to extend Rob Dickie's deal with us.

"He has been a hugely consistent performer and gives a lot to the team, so this is a very positive piece of news."

The Robins sit 10th in the Championship table, and play next at Norwich on Saturday (15:00 BST).
