The preparations of Wales' EFL clubs are ramping up ahead of a season where it will be all change for two of them.

While Swansea City will start a eighth successive season in the Championship, they will this year be joined by history-making Wrexham after Phil Parkinson's side sealed a third consecutive promotion.

The Red Dragons return to the second-tier for the first time in 43 years, with Cardiff City having gone the other way.

Under Brian Barry-Murphy, the Bluebirds are back in League One for the first time since 2003, meaning they – along with League Two Newport County – start their seasons on 2 August, a week ahead of Wrexham and the Swans.

But all four have their players back in for training – with pre-season schedules taking shape.

Wrexham are off to Australia and New Zealand as they look to ready for themselves for their Championship arrival - and increase their profile Down Under - with games against A-League clubs.

Cardiff and Swansea will have some low-key games on training camps in Spain before finishing preparations at home – with Alan Sheehan's side welcoming French side Lorient to wrap-up their warm-ups.

Newport, meanwhile, are keeping it local as new boss Dave Hughes gets ready for the start of his reign - which starts with an early EFL CUP preliminary round tie against Barnet on Tuesday 29 July.

Here BBC Sport Wales runs through the friendly fixtures of all four clubs, with some fixtures still to be confirmed.
