The preparations of Wales' EFL clubs are ramping up ahead of a season where it will be all change for two of them.

Swansea City will start an eighth successive season in the Championship, where they will be joined this year by history-making Wrexham after Phil Parkinson's side sealed a third consecutive promotion.

The Red Dragons return to the second tier for the first time in 43 years, with Cardiff City having gone the other way.

Under Brian Barry-Murphy, the Bluebirds are back in League One for the first time since 2003, meaning they – along with League Two Newport County – start their seasons on 2 August, a week before Wrexham and the Swans.

But all four clubs have their players back in for training – with pre-season schedules taking shape.

Wrexham are off to Australia and New Zealand as they look to ready for themselves for the Championship - and increase their profile Down Under - with games against A-League clubs.

Cardiff and Swansea will have some low-key games on training camps in Spain before finishing preparations at home, with Alan Sheehan's side welcoming French side Lorient to wrap up their warm-ups.

Newport, meanwhile, are keeping it local as new boss Dave Hughes starts his reign - which begins in competitive terms with an EFL CUP preliminary round tie against Barnet on Tuesday, 29 July.

Here BBC Sport Wales runs through the friendly fixtures of all four clubs, with some games still to be confirmed.
