Northampton Town boss Kevin Nolan has praised the commitment of Cameron McGeehan after he played against former club Luton Town despite two rib fractures.
The midfielder was originally due to start on the bench but ended up playing the entirety of Saturday's game, which ended in a 1-0 home defeat.
McGeehan has made 54 appearances for the Cobblers since joining them in the summer of 2024.
"He's done fantastically well. It's a credit to him and the professionalism he shows, that he can go out and do 90 minutes," Nolan told BBC Radio Northampton.
"He played in a number of positions, he was here, there and everywhere, but I've got a good squad, who are honest, and I like that."
McGeehan suffered the injury against Port Vale on 4 October and although he played again against Walsall in the EFL Trophy three days later, he was taken off after 45 minutes.
A crowd of 8,029 were at Sixfields, a record for the stadium, and the club's highest attendance for a home league game for 38 years.
Northampton lost Dean Campbell before play even began after he suffered an injury in the warm-up and Jack Perkins had to go off after 13 minutes.
They were eventually beaten by Lamina Fanne's late goal as Luton gave Jack Wilshere his first win as their new manager.
"It's testament to the club, the owners and what they've done," said Nolan.
"The new stand is fantastic, Premier League standard when you go in the boxes.
"We're always looking to improve, so hopefully we will see them (the fans) again - hopefully they haven't been turned off by the defeat."
