Morecambe bring in ex-Hartlepool midfielder Cooke

Callum Cooke spent two seasons with Hartlepool United, playing 76 games and scoring 11 goals

Morecambe have signed midfielder Callum Cooke on a deal until the end of the season.

Cooke was a free agent having left National League Hartlepool United at the end of last season.

The 27-year-old links up with Morecambe boss Derek Adams, having played under the Scot at Bradford City.

"The gaffer gives you a license to go and express yourself, especially in the final third and being an attacking midfielder, having that is vital," Cooke told the Shrimps' official website.

Cooke is Morecambe's second January signing after goalkeeper Ryan Schofield, with the club 23rd in League Two, five points from safety.
